Vtg 1940s Paper Mache Pumpkin Choir Boy 11" Lantern Double Sided Orig Eyes Mouths
**RARE LARGE 11" VINTAGE HALLOWEEN CHOIRBOY PULP PUMPKIN LANTERN**
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, oversized 11-inch vintage pulp/paper-mâché "Choirboy" Jack-O'-Lantern from the 1940s–1950s. This is the highly desirable double-sided graphic variant featuring two complete molded faces, making it a perfect center-piece display.
**PRESERVATION & RESTORATION DETAILS:*** **Original 1940s Eyes & Mouth Inserts Retained:** This highly prized lantern is incredibly complete, retaining both its authentic, original 1940s orange-and-black cat-eyes AND the original black-and-red mouth inserts! Unlike most examples on the market that have empty openings or cheap modern computer-printed reproduction inserts, this specimen retains its historic face features.* **Professional Multi-Layer Stabilization:** To safely preserve the delicate, loose original facial inserts, a meticulous multi-layer stabilization process was done from the interior. The historic fragments were securely attached to premium Borden & Riley transparent glassine paper using museum-safe, acid-free Lineco pH-neutral adhesive. Collectors can rest assured knowing this repair was executed safely using strict archival standards.* **Custom Tone Backing:** To eliminate the bright, stark white look of modern glassine behind the facial openings, a custom-cut layer of native kraft paper-bag backing was layered behind the glassine inside the lantern and neatly secured with tape. This genius layer eliminates modern white contrast and perfectly replicates the dense, opaque, aged amber color profile of 80-year-old pulp when unlit.* **The Glow:** When illuminated, the light filters beautifully through the historic fiber inserts, producing a breathtaking, authentic vintage silhouette glow from both expressions (see backlit photos!).
**CONDITION REPORT:*** The thick pulp body is structural, sturdy, and stands beautifully on its own.* Features fantastic vibrant orange and green period-correct paints with beautiful, natural aged patina.* The fragile bottom base is fully intact and includes the original green insert/flashlight adapter ring.* Includes the original vintage wire handle/bail.* (Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate full cosmetic details before offerding).
**DIMENSIONS:** Approx. 11 inches tall (Rare Oversized Scale)
**SHIPPING & ARCHIVAL PACKAGING DETAILS (Flat Rate $45.00):**Due to the high-value and extremely fragile nature of this 11-inch vintage pulp lantern, it will be packaged defensively using a premium "double-box" method.
Your $45.00 flat-rate shipping fee completely covers:• Full Third-Party Shipping Insurance for the total purchase amount ($1,650.00).• -Mandated Signature Confirmation at delivery to ensure it arrives safely in your hands.• Premium professional packing materials (archival glassine barrier over the fragile facial inserts, heavy-duty inner and outer boxes, and a dense multi-layered cushion buffer).
