Vtg 1950s Papier Mache Santa Boot Candy Container Christmas Paper Pulp Red 4.5":
$16.99
Wonderfully nostalgic piece of mid-century Christmas decor: an authentic 1950s molded papier-mâché / paper pulp Santa Claus boot candy container. This holiday collectible features a vibrant red painted exterior detailed with classic molded ankle creases and a raised top cuff. The hollow interior retains its original brown ribbed paper cupcake-style lining, which originally held vintage holiday candies and netting.
A perfect addition for collectors of retro kitsch Christmas decor, early American/Japanese holiday pulp containers, or traditional holiday mantle stagers.
Measurements :
• Height : Approx. 4.5 inches
• Sole Length : Approx. 4 inches
( Please refer to the high-resolution gallery photos featuring the ruler for exact dimensional scaling )
This boot is in well-loved, authentic vintage condition with a great aged character. It shows expected cosmetic signs of age, including distinct paint flaking and chipping along the top cuff edges and molded seams. There is a prominent patch of paint and pulp loss at the tip of the toe, as well as rubbing wear along the bottom heel and sole edges that exposes the underlying light tan paper pulp fibers.
The glossy red surface remains stable and structurally rigid (no soft or crushed spots). The underside features vintage handwritten black ink markings (including a number "4" and a small scribble near the arch).
Cleaning Note : This item is being sold exactly as found. I have not attempted to wash, clean, or wipe down the surface to prevent any further flaking of the original vintage finish, leaving the choice of preservation method entirely up to the buyer.
