Overview:

Up for sale is an authentic pair of World War II U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships Mark 33 Mod. 0 6x30 binoculars. This set was manufactured by the Universal Camera Corp. in 1943 and carries the sequential military serial number 58361 stamped on the center hinge cap. The binoculars include the matching hard leather carrying case and original leather neck strap.

Optical Condition:

• Clarity: The internal glass and prisms are clean and transparent. There is no evidence of the internal fungus, heavy clouding, or smoke haze common to optics of this age.

• Defects: There is a small, distinct chip visible on the internal prism edge at approximately the 2:30 position. It does not heavily obstruct the center field of view, but it is present and visible when looking through the right eyepiece.

• Focus: Both individual diopter adjustment rings rotate properly and function as intended.

Cosmetic & Physical Condition:

• Binoculars: The black texturized body covering is fully intact. There is minor paint wear and bare metal showing on the sharp edges of the prism plates, hinges, and eyepieces, consistent with normal military age and use. All stamped military lettering remains crisp and completely legible.

• Case & Straps: The hard leather carrying case is complete with its functional closure hardware. The leather shows surface scuffing, age wear, and creasing, but remains structurally solid. The original leather neck strap on the binoculars is intact but shows significant cracking and dryness from age; it should be handled with care.

Please review the photos carefully to evaluate the physical condition and the noted prism chip. Selling as-is. Shipping will be carefully packed and insured.
