Description
A 1993 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes ceramic cookie jar made by Certified International Corp. (No. 6107). Sylvester is shown in one of his classic schemes: he's grinning and hugging a birdcage, and he doesn't notice that Tweety is perched on his shoulder behind him, right next to the open cage door. The colors are bright and hand-painted, with a glossy black-and-white Sylvester, a red nose, a tan wood-grain cage, and a yellow Tweety with blue eyes.
The upper half, with Sylvester's head, Tweety, and the top of the cage, lifts off as the lid, and the body holds the cookies. The bottom is marked "TM & © 1993 Warner Bros. Inc. Certified International Corp. Taiwan."
It's a great piece for Looney Tunes collectors, cookie jar collectors, or anyone who wants some '90s cartoon nostalgia in the kitchen.
Condition: Pre-owned, vintage.
- No chips or cracks found on the jar or the lid.
- The paint and glaze are bright, and Tweety and the cage details are crisp.
- There's light surface grime and a few tan spots on the white glaze, mostly on the feet and the hand holding the cage. These should clean up with a damp cloth.
- Small glaze specks on the black of the head and the back, which are typical of this jar's factory finish.
- The unglazed rims of the lid and jar show light rub marks from the lid being taken on and off.
- The unglazed bottom has dirt and scuff marks from sitting on a shelf.
The original box is included. It shows wear:
- Blue painter's tape over a damaged corner on the front
- A torn top flap
- Scuffed and worn corners, light staining, and an original Van Leunen's $39.99 price sticker
