Zippo Barcroft table lighter (4th model), produced between 1953 and 1979.

The Barcroft #4 was introduced in 1954, and the name was officially registered for use on table lighters. The model was named in memory of Miriam Barcroft, the wife of George Blaisdell, who had passed away in 1953. This fourth version introduced many innovations; unlike the first three models, this lighter used a standard insert that could be removed from any pocket-sized Zippo.

The design of the Barcroft 4 ensures that fuel is supplied not only from the insert but also from the casing itself. In addition to the insert, the casing contains a large ball of felt that also absorbs fuel. The Barcroft 4 was highly popular and remained in production for a considerable time—until 1979.
