Very old and scarce complete Pashtung necklace - Good silver ~ Stylized prayer box panel decorated with gold fire gilding and tiny blue beads. Suspended on its original hand braided brown wool cord embellished with hefty old Persian coins . Uncommon and very lucky to find the original cord still attached. Remnants of green and maroon silk tassels on either side of the center pendant. Center medallion is 5” by 5 1/4” and the cord portion is 45”
I knotted the cord to shorten the necklace and embellished the back with a marroon/red silk tassel and suspended to it an antique Tibetan silver earrings with turquoise inlay. When worn with the hair up, there is that nice surprise when the we are turns their back. There is saying in Arabic that translates to “Those who see you going think you are coming” which means you look as beautiful from behind as you do from the front !The knot is easy to untie and the silk tassel and earrings also are removable .301 grams Related Items:
