18th Century English Pewter Charger – H. Little, London, c. 1740–1764 (14.75") NICE!A genuine mid-18th century English pewter charger, struck to the reverse with the arched “H. LITTLE / IN LONDON” touchmark. The mark is accompanied by a series of small crowned shields, including one featuring a bird, consistent with London pewter verification marks of the period.
The charger’s form, size, and backmark arrangement align with documented work by Henry Little, a London pewterer recorded in Cotterell (No. 2948), whose working life is understood to fall between 1737 and his death in 1764. Both the mark and the classic broad-rimmed charger profile support a dating firmly within the mid-18th century.
