Antique 1920s Art Deco Carlton Automatic Petrol Pocket Lighter – Faux Woodgrain Finish – FULLY WORKING
For sale is a beautifully preserved piece of tobacciana history: a vintage Carlton Automatic petrol pocket lighter, manufactured as part of the iconic Kum-A-Part product line by the Baer & Wilde Co. (Attleboro, MA) in the late 1920s to early 1930s. This elegant Art Deco piece features their signature "one-motion" design and is wrapped in a classic faux-woodgrain veneer finish.Mechanical Condition:
• Fully Functional / Working: Unlike many vintage lighters on the market with frozen gears, this unit is completely un-frozen and in functional order.
• Strong Spark: The internal flint wheel spins flawlessly and throws a strong, sharp spark.
• Snuffer Action: The automatic snuffer cap snaps open instantly when the thumb trigger is depressed and seals tightly upon release.
Cosmetic Condition:
The lighter shows a wonderful, honest patina on the brass mechanical elements. The faux-woodgrain wrap retains beautiful color and grain contrast. As is typical for these nearly 100-year-old wrapped lighters, there is some minor age-related shrinkage resulting in visible seams on the sides (please review the photos closely for exact alignment). No deep dents, structural damage, or missing hardware parts.
Shipping & Handling:
• Free Standard Shipping included!
• Will be shipped safely and securely packaged via USPS Ground Advantage to ensure safe arrival.
• Please note: Per shipping regulations, the lighter will be completely drained of fuel prior to transit.
