Robert Schwartz & Bro. industrial gooseneck desk lamp, featuring a patent date of August 15, 1922.This early electric-era transitional piece perfectly balances Art Nouveau relief detailing with the clean functionality of the emerging Art Deco style.Key Features & Details:Ornate Cast Iron Base: The heavy, stable underside is fully stamped with the original maker marks, location (New York), and patent date. The top facing of the base shows a gorgeous, crisp embossed leaf and floral motif.Stamped Shade Collar: The rear collar of the parabolic metal shade is clearly stamped with the stylized hallmark "ESROBERT".
The upper adjustment joint tilts and holds position exactly as intended.Period Monowatt Socket: The brass electrical housing features an old-style Monowatt 250W. 250V push-through bar switch (slides cleanly from side-to-side to activate).Condition Notes:This lamp is an authentic antique showing a century of honest, wonderful aged patina. The flexible gooseneck arm holds its shape firmly. Please note that a previous owner historically soldered the seam of the brass Monowatt socket shell to permanently secure it.
