Up for sale is an original vintage black and white photo from 1927, showing a stylish woman in 1920s flapper attire — cloche hat, dark coat and handbag — posing at a waterfront railing. Behind her, a building displays a large 'DAY LINE' sign, the visible signage supporting a Hudson River Day Line connection (the famous New York steamboat company that ran day excursions between New York City and Albany), making this an appealing piece for collectors of 1920s photography, flapper-era memorabilia, New York waterfront history and steamboat and transportation ephemera.
The print measures 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches. It is in good vintage condition with light wear and aging consistent with a photograph approaching 100 years old; please study the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
The back of the photograph is handwritten '1927' in pencil and shows a faint 'VELOX' photographic paper watermark, with a few small marks along the bottom edge — see the third photo for the back view.
