Charming 1949 vintage die cut nursery rhyme / storybook girl cards or decorations by American Card Co., sold together as a 9-piece lot. These colorful lithographed paper die cuts each measure approximately 6 inches high and feature sweet illustrated girls in classic storybook or nursery rhyme themes, with printed stories or rhymes on the reverse.
Included story/rhyme titles shown on the backs include:
- Cinderella
- Snow White
- Mary and Her Little Lamb
- Little Bo Peep
- Goldilocks
- Little Miss Muffet
- Jack and Jill
- Little Red Riding Hood
One additional card appears to be another Mary Had a Little Lamb themed variation.
The fronts retain excellent bright mid-century display appeal with detailed costumes, pastel coloring, and whimsical children’s illustration styling typical of late 1940s American paper ephemera. Reverse sides retain the printed nursery rhyme text and publisher information.
A wonderful lot for nursery rhyme collectors, vintage paper ephemera collectors, scrapbook/display use, classroom decor collectors, or mid-century children’s illustration enthusiasts.
Condition appears generally good vintage condition with age-related wear, edge wear, light creasing, and minor discoloration from age/storage. Please examine photos carefully for exact condition and completeness.
