Original 1952 Pontiac Chieftain Indian Chief Hood Ornament – GM Part No. 515594
Offered here is an authentic vintage1952 Pontiac hood-top ornament, featuring Pontiac's famous Indian Chief design with the dramatic long streamlined spear.
This is thenon-illuminated version, identified in the Pontiac Master Parts Catalog asGM Part No. 515594for 1952 Pontiac models.
This is anoriginal vintage piece and an excellent candidate for restoration.
CONDITIONPlease review all photographs carefully. This ornament is slightly damaged, shows substantial age and weathering from decades of use and storage.
The chrome plating hasextensive pitting, oxidation, spotting and plating deterioration throughout. The heaviest deterioration is visible around the Chief's face, head/headdress area and portions of the long spear.
Despite the cosmetic deterioration, the ornament retains its distinctive original Pontiac design. Thelong spear, Chief profile and headdress remain clearly defined, making this a worthwhile original piece for restoration rather than using a reproduction.
I have intentionally photographed the ornament from multiple angles so the buyer can accurately judge its condition.
Sold as shown and in unrestored condition.
Theblack display stand shown in the photographs is NOT included.
