Vintage Sony TFM-95 nine-transistor portable radio
This early-1960s Sony portable has FM and MW (AM) bands, a front speaker grille, carrying handle, analog tuning dial, and push-button band controls. Its distinctive design makes it a display piece as well as a working vintage radio.
Operation: I tested the radio using four D batteries, and it works. I will include a video showing it operating so you can hear and see the actual unit being offered. Batteries are not included.
Antenna: The original external antenna is missing. Wires have been soldered in and are being used as an antenna. This is a modification, and the wiring is shown in the photos. Reception will depend on location and antenna placement.
Case and cosmetics: One corner of the plastic case is cracked and chipped, leaving an opening at that corner. The radio also shows wear, marks, and discoloration consistent with its age, including wear to the grille and trim. Please examine the close-up photos of the corner and the interior.
Included: The Sony TFM-95 radio shown in the photos. No batteries, original external antenna, box, or other accessories are included.
It will be packed with particular care around the damaged corner and handle.
