1993 USMC 24th MEU SOC Somalia CENTCOM ARG/LF 2-93 Cruise Deployment Book:
$269.95
Original 1993 hardcover deployment/cruise book for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), CENTCOM ARG/LF 2-93.
This is a particularly interesting USMC unit history because this deployment included operations in Somalia during Operation Restore Hope / Continue Hope. The book’s schedule shows the 24th MEU arriving off Somalia in March 1993, conducting operations ashore around Mogadishu, and later returning to the area in June/July. Historical records confirm the 24th MEU participated in Restore Hope and Continue Hope during 1993.
Hardcover features desert camouflage artwork with gold foil 24th MEU insignia and lettering. Inside are unit histories, commanding officer information, deployment chronology, personnel photographs, ships, equipment and extensive photographs documenting the deployment.
Published by the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Fleet Marine Force in 1993 and approximately 176 pages.
Nice piece of early-1990s Marine Corps/Somalia military history, especially considering the deployment occurred during the same broader U.S. involvement in Somalia that preceded the events later associated with the Battle of Mogadishu.
Pre-owned vintage condition with normal light exterior/storage wear. Interior appears clean and well preserved from the photos. Please review all photos for exact condition.
