Afrikakorps Volume 2: 1941–1942 by David Bunch & Daniel Fisher is a 304-page hardback book and the eagerly awaited continuation of this acclaimed reference series. It represents another major achievement in meticulous research and documentation by two of the foremost experts in military history and militaria collecting.
This second volume covers the critical period of 1941 to 1942, a time of significant change during the North Africa campaign. It expands substantially on the foundations laid in Volume One, offering collectors and enthusiasts an even deeper understanding of tropical issue and DAK (Deutsches Afrikakorps) uniforms, equipment, and insignia.
Afrikakorps Volume Two introduces expanded coverage of service branches, including Kriegsmarine (Navy) headdress and uniforms for the first time, alongside further in-depth examination of Luftwaffe tropical garments and equipment. The Heer (Army) is also explored in greater detail, with many additional items shown, including a special feature on the elite and distinctive Sonderverband 288.
A highlight of this volume is the inclusion of exceptional groupings, identified generals’ tunics, and important original documents connected to well-known personalities of the North Africa campaign. These pieces are presented with extensive historical context, adding significant depth and authenticity to the work.
As with Volume One, the book is filled with close-up, full-colour images that provide an unparalleled visual reference. Bunch and Fisher also share their expert guidance on identifying reproductions, equipping collectors with the knowledge and confidence to authenticate original pieces accurately.
Produced in a very limited print run, Afrikakorps Volume Two will not be reprinted once sold out, making each copy a highly desirable and valuable collector’s item. An essential addition to any serious Afrikakorps or WWII militaria reference library.
