This exquisite vintage real photo postcard (RPPC) captures the poignant sentiment surrounding Alsace and Lorraine, a region rich in history and cultural significance. The front features two young women elegantly dressed in traditional Alsatian costumes, including the distinctive coiffes, holding hands in a gesture of unity and hope. Their attire, a vibrant example of regional folk dress, is meticulously hand-colored, adding a touch of life to the sepia-toned photographic base.Above them, a cloud-shaped vignette showcases a prominent architectural landmark, likely a cathedral or church, symbolizing the cherished heritage of the region. The postcard prominently displays the title "ALSACE ET LORRAINE" and includes a patriotic French poem, evoking themes of national identity and the enduring spirit of France.
