Antique 1800-1849 Small Black Wooden Hinged Lid Trinket Box Woman Portrait:
$130.00
This is an authentic, highly collectible 19th-century European pocket tobacco or snuff box. The lid features an elegantly detailed, hand-painted miniature portrait of a woman styled in mid-1800s fashion, complete with a classic center-parted hairstyle and a vibrant orange/yellow dress featuring a prominent ruffed collar. The box features a solid black lacquered interior and an integrated, flush metal hinge system—craftsmanship highly characteristic of early German or English papier-mâché workshops from the era.**Condition Report:** Offered in honest antique condition. The box is structurally sound, and the original metal hinge remains intact and functions smoothly. The exterior and interior exhibit a dense, heavy network of natural age-crickling (craquelure) to the lacquer finish, verifying its 150+ year history. There is minor paint flaking and surface loss near the top edge of the portrait miniature on the lid. Please carefully review all high-resolution photos, as they serve as the final visual description of the item's condition. Related Items:
