Antique 1850s Jacquard Coverlet Signed by Jacob Schnell York County, PA Red Blue
Own a piece of Pennsylvania weaving history. This handwoven Jacquard coverlet is signed and dated in the weave by its maker, Jacob Schnell of near Shrewsbury, York County, PA, in the 1850s. The bold red, navy, olive green and natural design features large floral medallions framed by rows of tiny houses, trees, and tulip-and-leaf corner blocks. Signed, dated coverlets with building borders are the ones collectors look for.
