Up for sale is a remarkably rare piece of early early 20th-century automotive history: an original Antique Brass Automotive/Motorcycle Exhaust Whistle manufactured by the legendary American Flask & Cap Company.
The barrel is explicitly stamped with the historical maker mark: "AM. FLASK & CO."
This classic aftermarket accessory was designed to be clamped onto or routed near the exhaust pipe of early vehicles or motorcycles, using engine pressure to blast a high-pitched warning signal when the pull chain lever mechanism was engaged.
Features & Condition:
- Material: Heavy, high-quality solid spun and cast brass with beautiful aged patina.
- Markings: Clearly stamped "AM. FLASK & CO." along with structural numeric markings near the sound slots (1 and 1 1/4).
- Mechanics: Complete with original integrated spring-loaded pivot lever arm, mechanical divider valve, and linked chain assembly. The spring mechanism still retains nice tension and movement.
