Authentic Antique Japanese Moriage Demitasse Cabinet Cup & Saucer Set (c. 1890–1920)
Up for sale/sale is a stunning, intricately detailed miniature cabinet cup and saucer set. Designed in the ornate European Rococo "Meissen B-Form" style, this set features heavy, three-dimensional raised gold gilt relief work against a vivid cobalt blue and soft ivory/pink/green gradient background. The saucer features hand-applied white enamel Moriage floral dot-work, a hallmark of fine Japanese export porcelain from the Nippon era.
Item Proportions & Measurements:
- Saucer Diameter: 4.5 inches
- Cup Height: 1.5 inches (Miniature / Demitasse size)
Condition Report:
Excellent antique condition. The porcelain is entirely free of chips, cracks, crazing, or structural repairs. The raised enamel moriage dots are completely intact. The heavy gold gilding shows exceptional luster with only negligible surface wear consistent with age and display cabinet storage.
Markings:
Both pieces are completely unmarked/blank on the underside, typical of certain export blanks finished by independent decorating studios during this era.
Care Instructions: Hand-wash only. Do not microwave due to heavy metallic gold content.
Shipping: Securely packed in double-bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure safe arrival.
