Up for sale is an antique pair of field-worn Native American beaded buckskin gauntlet gloves, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The gloves feature highly detailed rosette and starburst beadwork in red, light blue, black, and white on both the cuffs and the back of the hands, characteristic of early Plains or Plateau craftsmanship. The flared gauntlet cuffs are finished with a vintage blue floral print fabric lining. The gloves measure exactly 10 inches from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the cuff, and are exactly 5 inches wide at the wrist when laid flat.
Condition: These gloves boast a rich, authentic patina consistent with genuine antique field wear. There is heavy darkening, soiling, and discoloration to the leather throughout the palms and fingers from historical use. There are a few small seam separations, notably on the thumb of the left glove. The beadwork remains beautifully intact. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition and wear details.
