Antique Pedro Cut Plug smoking tobacco advertising pouch featuring the colorful Pedro trademark and original drawstring closure.
An especially interesting example due to the factory designation printed along the bottom: “Factory Number One, Twenty-Eighth Dist., New York.” The pouch also carries the W.S. Kimball & Co. name and Pedro Cut Plug Smoking Tobacco advertising graphics.
The opposite side features Pedro branding with playing cards, while the front displays the larger illustrated Pedro tobacco trademark. Additional period patent and manufacturing information is printed along the lower edges.
Constructed of woven cloth/canvas with metal-reinforced drawstring openings and the original dark cord.
Condition: Antique condition with considerable age-related discoloration, staining, fading, surface wear and areas of blue discoloration/residue. Printing remains remarkably visible for its age, including the important Factory No. 1 / Twenty-Eighth District New York designation. Drawstring shows age and fraying at the end. Please review all photos closely for condition.
A scarce early tobacco advertising collectible and an especially desirable variation for collectors of Pedro, W.S. Kimball & Co., tobacco pouches and early American advertising.
