Authentic Antique German Vienna Regulator Wall Clock Pendulum:
$40.00
Authentic original antique replacement pendulum designed for a late 19th or early 20th century German Wall Clock, such as a Vienna Regulator or German Box Clock.
This is a standalone piece
A bit about the pendulum...
1 - the Bob features a polished brass front casing wrapped securely around a heavy cast iron core backing to provide the essential weight and momentum needed to regulate clock timing
2 - The Rod is made of a flat stained dark wood.- German horologist prefered wood as it expands and contracts far less than metal during seasonal temperature.
3 - The Hardware - this is outfitted with a U shaped brass suspension hook at the top and a threaded bass rate regulation nut at the bottom
4 - There is a white label on the back that is a clean service tag from past repair/maintenance overhaul labeled Mr. Beckner 8-28-01
This pendulum is a perfect example of what utilitarian high precision style is - while it does not have the ornate face stampings it leans more in the favor of clean, flat minimalist brass - making it universally compatible with a wide array of clock designs from that era
Bit of history...
During the golden age of German clock making (around 1880-1910) regions like the Black Forest became the global hubs for timekeeping innovation. Factories mass produced standardized high quality components to supply prominent assembly brands like "Junghans, Lenzkirch and Gustav Becker''
This is a classic traditional European style, Perfect for any horologist / clock repair enthusiasts
