This is a very rare, large, 41.6 gram piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber with a beautiful dark blue color from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratops still walked the Earth. This is hard material and takes a high polish. It could be used for carving or made into jewelry.
The amber fossil itself has a beautiful, all-natural dark blue color when observed in natural sunlight. All pictures were taken in natural sunlight.
A large window has been polished into this piece while the remainder is in the raw as it was mined. This amber fossil came from Myanmar(formerly known as Burma).
The piece itself weighs 41.6 grams with approximate dimensions of 6 cmlength by4.7 cm width and 1.8 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.

Please note that thesaltwater test to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwatertest claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.
However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical(plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are moredense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response shouldhelp demonstrate this.
