CHINESE INSIDE-PAINTED GLASS VASE LAMP C. 1898-1910 CHINESE GATHERING PARTY:
$495.00
Antique Chinese Inside Painted Glass Vase Converted to Lamp.
c.1898-1910
Hand painted scene depicting..
as a friend has kindly translated the writings and describes somewhat loosely:
Chinese Pavilion depicting a sort of Geisha
(as Chinese do not have Geisha per se)
Woman Entertaining a Drunk Gathering.
Basically guessing they are having a party.
22" high overall.
Glass (only) 10" high.
Brass acorn finial.
Two lights on pull chain sockets.
The flared hand painted silk shade
which was a fantastic detail is not
included as it is completely worn.
But it really is a good guide for getting a replacement shade as it was a perfect combination.
If one were inclined to find a similar
shaped and sized silk shade that
an artist can hand paint on to
reproduce this.
More pictures may be of use or
if you want for cost of shipping can
send it so it can be reproduced exactly.
I know an artist who can do it who
lives in Wilkie Barrie Pa.
The original shades size was:
9 1/8" high.
9" diameter at the top.
16" diameter at the bottom.
A lovely and rare Chinese Reverse
Painted Glass Lamp.
Cheers : )
Nice antique condition..original shade
is finished and not included.
