The lacquered box or jar features intricate floral and bird decorations, with an unknown age and origin. It showcases Chinese or Japanese design influences, making it a unique and visually appealing piece. The ownership history and country/region of manufacture remain unknown, adding to the mystery and allure of this item. This is a nice Chinese or Japanese unknown age lacquered box / jar with floral & bird decoration having a foo dog finial on the lid. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with the top just resting on it. It does have some wear to the piece throughout and I believe this reflects it having some age to the piece and it comes exactly as shown. The top rope like or braided section being a little loose. It measures 9 1/4" at the widest point, the base is 6 1/2" in diameter and is 8 3/4" tall.
