This is a beautiful, highly detailed antique Spanish Colonial period silver votive crown, traditionally used to adorn Santos statues or Madonna figures in religious displays. This piece showcases masterful craftsmanship, featuring intricate openwork silver filigree panels, scrolled repoussé bands, and a prominent matching cross finial at the peak. The base band is inset with vibrant blue rhinestone/paste gem accents and features the traditional securing pin underneath to mount the crown to a wooden or composite figure. It also has clear rhinestones paste with the same type of pressure mounting in bezels. The crown features hallmarks stamped on the cross rim, indicating its historical Spanish Colonial origin and silver purity regulation. The crown tests for 800 silver. Total Weight: 113 grams.
