Originally, this type of astronomical navigation watch was housed in a wristwatch-style case designed to be worn on a pilot’s wrist, with a rotatable internal bezel. However, this example has been incorporated into a pocket watch case.
Based on the historical context and the size of the case, it appears that this watch may have been converted into a pocket watch during the period, although this cannot be confirmed.
Operating Condition:
The mainspring winds up, and during a 24-hour test in a horizontal position, the watch showed an accuracy of within approximately one minute per day.
Condition:
The hands have rust, and the case shows scratches, dirt, and signs of age.
