Commander (Commendatore) in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of

Jerusalem, one of the oldest and most prestigious Catholic chivalric orders

recognized by the Vatican.

Dated July 19, 2006, in Vatican City. Signed and sealed by Cardinal Carlo Furno

(Grand Master 1995–2007) and countersigned by Assessor Gabriele Caccia of the

Secretariat of State.

THE ORDER

The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (Ordo Equestris Sancti

Sepulcri Hierosolymitani) is a Catholic order of chivalry founded in the 11th

century. Today it has approximately 30,000 members worldwide across 60

lieutenancies, governed by a Cardinal Grand Master appointed by the Pope.

Ranks (in ascending order): Knight/Dame → Commander → Commander with Star →

Grand Officer → Grand Cross → Knight/Dame of the Collar

This diploma confers the COMMANDER rank, a significant promotion above the base

Knight rank and reserved for members of demonstrated service to the Order.
