French Swiss Made M1770 Napoleonic Officer's Sword made by Jakob Girtanner in St. Gallen, his workshop primarily produced high-quality military and dress swords for European officersduring the Napoleonic wars. This sword was a primary edge weapon of Swiss officers ofLe 1er Régiment Suisse - an infantry regiment formed in 1805. These elite troops fought valiantly in the ranks of the French Imperial Army on numerous European fronts from Italy to Spain and Russia during Napoleonic wars. Very good condition for its age,a few minor isolated rust spots, no parts play, no post factory sharpening, the original gold-and-blue finish has largely been preserved, the leather is strong, no cuts, hols or broken stitches.Pleasesee my otherknives, swords and bayonets.
