Commanding...."This is the 500+ page first printing of thecomplete roster of the Confederate soldiers who surrendered at Appomattox.Published by the Southern Historical Society in 1887 from the duplicate originals in their archives.The roster is by unit and many units included other details, such as the number of horses or men bearing arms as of that date. If you had a Confederate ancestor who fought under Lee, he is in here along with the other men in his unit and his officers. The book is about 6" x 9 3/4", softcover, 508 pages, and is a heavy 1 pound 9 ounces.
The book is in Good or better condition. The soft cover has some wear and tear but there is nothing else really to note other than age. The binding and spine are tight. The pages are toned from age but are still supple.
