$149.95
Beautiful large Blanket Woman pottery sculpture, measuring approximately 17 inches tall.
This striking piece depicts a woman enveloped in a traditional-style blanket or cloak, with her sculpted face emerging from the deeply recessed opening. The rounded, almost cocoon-like form is finished in warm earthy terracotta/rust brown and cream tones, with darker shading surrounding the face that gives the sculpture wonderful depth and character.
The surface has a hand-worked, matte finish with subtle variations throughout. The underside is open and unglazed, showing the reddish clay/terracotta construction.
This piece has a Southwestern / Native American Blanket Woman design and makes an impressive display piece due to its unusually large size and sculptural form.
No signature or maker’s mark has been located, so the individual artist, tribal affiliation and exact age are unknown.
Pre-owned condition with surface variations, light marks and wear consistent with age and handmade pottery. No major damage is apparent in the photographs. Please review all photos carefully for condition and details, as they are part of the description.
Approx. height: 17 inches
A beautiful statement piece for a Southwestern, Western, Native American art, studio pottery or folk-art collection.
