Vintage Hand-Blown Cobalt Blue Art Glass Pitcher with Applied Scroll-Tail Handle & Optic Thumbprint Base
Up for your consideration is a gorgeous, heavy vintage hand-blown art glass pitcher cast in a rich, deeply saturated cobalt blue hue. This exceptional piece showcases an elegant, bulbous body tapering into a wide throat that flares open into a beautifully worked tri-corner pinched pouring spout.
This piece features beautiful artisan craft elements that stand out on display. The lower portion of the bulbous body boasts a subtle, hand-blown optic thumbprint / honeycomb mold pattern that catches the light beautifully. The thick cobalt handle is hand-applied separately while hot, elegantly finished at the base with a classic decorative curl or scrolled tail kick. The underside reveals a beautifully ground and smooth, fire-polished pontil ring with a subtle swirled indentation—confirming its high-end hand-blown factory or studio origins. Small, charming internal air bubbles or "seeds" are scattered naturally throughout the glass, adding to its authentic vintage character.
This pitcher is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, structural cracks, fleabites, or repairs. The glass maintains gorgeous color clarity and a brilliant, high-gloss surface shine. It shows only minimal, normal shelf-wear on the ground outer ring of the base from decades of careful cabinet display.
