Vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian Teal Blue Glass Giant Brandy Snifter Centerpiece Vase
Up for your consideration is a spectacular, massive vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) art glass oversized brandy snifter vase, beautifully attributed to the historic glassmaking region of Empoli, Italy. This giant display piece is blown in a rich, deeply saturated translucent teal blue color that catches and refracts ambient room lighting with incredible brilliance.
The massive globe-shaped body features a wonderful geometric diamond optic thumbprint mold pattern, giving it a classic retro honeycomb appearance. Following the organic contours of the hand-blown design, the top opening is finished with a stunning, fire-polished scalloped / rippled edge. The giant bowl sits elegantly on a sculptural baluster-style pedestal stem and a wide, stable flared footed base. At nearly a foot tall, this statement piece works beautifully as a standalone mantel centerpiece, a retro candy dish, or a luxury indoor moss terrarium.
Condition Details:
This vintage art glass piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, structural fractures, or glass cloudiness. The glass surface maintains a highly glossy, pristine finish. There is only minimal, completely normal shelf-wear resting on the underside of the base ring from decades of careful cabinet display.
