For sale is a NOS Prince Deluxe Japanese straight razor with all packaging and factory edge. This is a very nice Japanese razor from the peak of Japanese barbering culture in the 50s-60s.
The blacksmith is unknown but the grind is almost exactly like many tanifuji razors in my collection so it could be one of the many brands he made blanks for or made by one of his apprentices. It is definitely a work of art as far as craftsmenship goes. Western Japanese razors are some of the highest quality straights in existence. The grinds and geometry are almost always immaculate.
The factory edge is basically shave ready as is after I stropped it but would be good to at least touch it up on a razor grade jnat finisher which I will include for free in the selling price. Just message me after purchase if you would prefer it not to be honed.
It's a really nice razor so I would like to make sure it's shave ready so you don't have to risk sending it out to be honed by someone else and have them grind off too much steel or needlessly reset the bevel when it just needs a touch up, if that.
The blade width is the typical 21mm that most western style Japanese razors stick to. It's the perfect size IMO so it's no wonder it was so popular in Japan.
