$15.00
Vintage RPPC – Roberts 5 & 10, Norwood, Pa.
A real photo postcard of a corner five-and-dime store with a long projecting sign across the front reading 5¢ ROBERTS 5¢ & 10¢, with a second 5 & 10 sign on the end wall facing the side street. Four large plate glass display windows are packed with merchandise, and a recessed entrance sits between them. Automobiles are parked along the curb, and a stone-faced house and a brick building with dormer windows stand on the neighboring lots. Utility poles and overhead wires run down the block. Norwood is a borough in Delaware County, southeast of Philadelphia, and Winona Avenue remains one of its main retail streets.
Unused and unposted, with a Kodak Paper stamp box on the back. A pencil notation on the back reads "Norwood, Winona Ave."
A nice piece for collectors of Pennsylvania topographical postcards, five-and-dime and variety store history, or mid-century storefronts and signage.
