Original French Line 1962 S.S. FRANCE Travel Agency Poster w/ Bob Peak Graphics:
$350.00

French Line: An original S.S. FRANCE travel poster by famed American graphic artist Robert "Bob" Peak (1927-1992).

The poster measures 30" by 46" and captures the excitement and luxury of a S.S. FRANCE nighttime sailing.

Peak painted the image in 1961-62 when his career was taking off. Besides several French Line designs, Peak is also well known for his 1964-65 New York World's Fair posters. But he is most famous for his movie work and is called "the father of the modern Hollywood poster." In 1961 Peak was hired by United Artists to design the movie poster for "West Side Story". Thus began a long association with Hollywood, designing the posters for such hits as "My Fair Lady", "Star Trek", and "Apocalypse Now".

Excellent condition with one 1/4" tear along the middle left border.
