1929 Rare Hand-Signed Letter by Meir Dizengoff – 1st Mayor of Tel Aviv – Official Township Letterhead
Historical Context & Description:
An authentic and significant historical Judaica document from the British Mandate period: an official typed letter dated January 17, 1929 (6 Shevat 5689), hand-signed in dark ink by Meir Dizengoff, the legendary founder and first Mayor of Tel Aviv.
The letter is written on the original bi-lingual stationery featuring the early emblem and printed heading "עירית תל-אביב / Township of Tel-Aviv". Addressed to his friend Dr. Moshe Dukhan in Jerusalem—a prominent jurist and senior official in the British Mandate administration—Dizengoff warmly congratulates him on his official promotion following distinguished service reported in the press, concluding with the warm sign-off "Bi-Yedidut" (In Friendship) and his distinct personal signature.
An exceptional centerpiece for collectors of early Tel Aviv ephemera, Zionism, Eretz Israel history, and notable autographs.
