This provenance lot features two historically connected items from the Pat Ellington estate. It includes a framed WWII era hand tinted studio portrait of a soldier in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and a detailed 1986 scrapbook from the El Mohr Iris Society. The scrapbook contains original photos, blue ribbons, and identification tags from the 1986 American Iris Society Convention. These items are sold together to preserve their shared family history.
These pieces provide a direct link between 1940s military service and 1980s local community horticulture in Colorado. The portrait features clear Signal Corps insignia and an honorable discharge patch.
