Original 1937–1939 “The Link” Anglo-German Membership Badge – No. 689
Scarce original pre-WWII membership badge produced for The Link, the British Anglo-German organisation founded in 1937.
Oval gilt/brass badge with deep blue enamel, depicting the British Isles and continental Europe joined by a symbolic link, with 1937 above.
The reverse is individually numbered:

Maker's mark appears to read:
J. R. GAUNT LONDON
Complete with buttonhole-style fitting to the reverse.
The Link was established in Britain in 1937 to promote Anglo-German relations and existed only for a short period before the Second World War. Surviving examples of its membership badge are individually numbered. Comparable documented examples carry numbers including 930, 1431, 1820, 2396 and 3623.
Condition: Original vintage condition with age-related wear, tarnishing and loss/wear to the gilt finish. Blue enamel remains attractive. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
