!Pristine Set of 4 Vintage Gustavsberg "Florence" Bone China Teacups & Saucers
Designed by Karin Björquist — Made in Sweden
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, vintage set of four (4) matching fine bone china teacups and saucers in the highly elusive "Florence" pattern. Designed by the legendary Karin Björquist (1927–2018) for the renowned Swedish porcelain studio Gustavsberg, this set dates back to the 1980s and perfectly captures the clean, minimalistic essence of mid-century Scandinavian modern design.
Design Details:
The pattern features a stunningly pure aesthetic, showcasing a delicate pastel turquoise/mint-blue band framed perfectly by crisp, elegant gold-gilded trims on the cup rims, bases, handles, and saucer edges.
Condition:
- Pristine / Excellent Vintage Condition.
- Free of any chips, cracks, crazing, fractures, or repairs.
- The gold gilding is remarkably bright and intact across all pieces with virtually zero signs of wear.
- The porcelain surfaces retain their brilliant white factory shine.
Each piece proudly features the original Gustavsberg backstamp, anchor logo, pattern name "Florence," and Karin Björquist designer credit on the underside.
Why this set is special:
The "Florence" pattern is remarkably rare and rarely appears on the secondary market outside of Scandinavia due to its very short, limited production window. Finding a matching, complete set of four in this flawless condition is an exceptional find for any collector of Swedish modern ceramics or mid-century tableware.
Care & Shipping:
Due to the delicate gold trim, these pieces should be hand-washed only (not microwave or dishwasher safe). The set will be meticulously double-wrapped, padded, and packed securely to guarantee a safe journey to its new home.
From a clean, smoke-free, and pet-free environment. Please see all high-resolution photos for exact details. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
