Offered is an original World War One era production United States military issue Model 1907 leather sling made for use with the 1903 Springfield or Model 1917 rifles. This will also fit an M1 Garand. This sling has the brass claws, as is correct for World War One era M1907s. This sling is dated 1918 and has the faint remains of its maker marking. I am not certain enough of the maker marking to commit to one in this listing. The inspector initials remain clear. It is full length and has never been modified or repaired. I have not cleaned, polished, or treated it. Both original sewn leather keepers are present. These original slings have become difficult to find, as the repros and fakes greatly outnumber the real ones. It is offered as pictured and shows wear and checking, but it is intact and remains very supple, especially given that it is over 100 years old. Overall, good, honest example that will display well on your been there, done that World War One rifle.
