From Events to War: Chapters in the History of the Defense of Tel Aviv (ממאורעות למלחמה: פרקים בתולדות ההגנה על תל־אביב) is a historical volume written by author and military historian Joseph Olitzky (יוסף אוליצקי) and published jointly by the Tel Aviv Haganah Command and the IDF Cultural Service. The book details the evolution of the Haganah—the primary Jewish underground defense organization during the British Mandate period—as it transitioned from localized guard units during early civil unrest ("events") into a organized military force capable of defending Tel Aviv and surrounding sectors during the 1948 War of Independence. It includes an introductory opening by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion alongside historical photographs, tactical maps, and primary archival accounts from key battles along the Tel Aviv-Jaffa frontier.
