Tiny German Gebrüder Heubach Action Baby - dressed in original outfit
I will have three of these little guys listed. Please look at my other listings to see them! This is an incredibly dear Heubach hand-painted porcelain bisque figurine action baby made in Germany in the Victorian era. Very nicely modeled action baby with detailed molded and brushed hair, fingers, and painted shoes and socks! Incredibly sweet little guy. Hands up - I think its like he’s saying, pick me up! There is a number on the bottom of his foot but I cannot read it! He is wearing an original, sewn-on onsie kind of outfit. The silky ribbon over his shoulder has come apart at the back but still stays up. He’s only example I’ve had my hands on dressed like this - super cute! He is almost 4” tall and is in very good condition, especially considering he is over 100 years old! Versions of this this type of action baby can be seen on page 123 in “Heubach’s Characters Dolls & Figurines” book by Lydia Richter and Karin Smelcher, and on pages 98 and 99 in Carol Ann Stanton’s “Heubach’s Little Characters Dolls & Figurines 1859-1930” book. He will be carefully wrapped to ensure he makes it to you safe and sound!
