This is a unique all-original Art Nouveau cast iron smoking stand dating from the 1910s to the 1920s. This piece stands 21.125 inches tall and features a heavy ~8 inch diameter decorative cast iron base. The ironwork features a pebbled surface texture characteristic of vintage sand-mold pours from the early 20th-century Americana era -- it is solid, heavy, and shows excellent casting character with soft, organic edges completely distinct from modern smooth-molded reproductions.Note: The receptacle for the ashtray is 5 inches in diameter by 1 inch deep.I believe the solid brass bowl is probably a vintage replacement for the original bowl. It has a pie crust rim, is clean, has no deep gouges or scratches, and retains a natural vintage patina from use.
