Original Korean War-era United States Air Force Blue Shade 84 wool uniform grouping consisting of a service coat, matching-style trousers, and flight/garrison cap.
The service coat displays Technical Sergeant (E-6) chevrons on both sleeves and retains its original USAF insignia buttons. The sewn-in label identifies it as:
• Coat, Wool, Serge, Blue 84, 18 oz.
• 100% wool
• Size 36LR
• S. Rudofker’s Sons, Inc.
• Manufactured March 19, 1951
• Specification MIL-C-3310
• Pattern dated August 5, 1949
The trousers are also original Blue Shade 84 wool serge and are labeled:
• Trousers, Wool, Serge, Blue 84, 18 oz.
• 100% wool
• Size 28 x 33P
• De George Clothing Mfg. Co.
• Contract dated October 14, 1949
• Specification 8-175A
• Pattern dated May 2, 1949
The grouping also includes a coordinating blue USAF flight/garrison cap with dark piping. No size marking was observed on the cap.
Vintage used condition with age-related wear. The coat has lint, scattered surface marks, wear and fraying around the interior collar/lining, a loose front button, and some fraying around a buttonhole. The trousers have visible spots, discoloration, wrinkles, and general wear. The cap also shows wear consistent with age. The coat and trousers have different contract dates and sizes, so they are being offered as a matching-era grouping rather than guaranteed to have been originally issued together.
