Vintage 1999 Signed David Kuo Champlevé Studio Art Glass Enamel Cat Sculpture:
$325.00
For your consideration is a rare, authentic 3D studio art glass sculpture of a reclining cat by acclaimed artisan David Kuo. Known predominantly for his high-end wearable art and jewelry, standalone figurative sculptures by Kuo are incredibly scarce and highly collectible. This piece features his signature champlevé enameling technique over a solid form. The design showcases an exquisite, vibrant abstract collage motif with stylized sunbursts, modern geometric patterns, and rich gold leaf detailing. Because of the specialized process of laying foil beneath the translucent fired glass enamel, the colors possess a stunning, luminous iridescence when caught in the light. The bottom is beautifully finished in a rich cobalt/royal blue glaze and hand-signed in gold script: "@ Champlevé 1999 +". Condition: Excellent vintage condition with brilliant colors and intact gold overlay. Please see all photos for exact signature details and condition.
