Vintage African Hand Carved Wood Seated Figure Sculpture 13.5" Arms Crossed F.B.:
$175.00

Striking African carved wooden seated figure, approximately 13.5 inches tall, featuring an oversized rounded head tilted dramatically to one side and crossed forearms resting above bent knees.

The sculptural composition combines deeply carved facial features, almond-shaped eyes, a tooth-detailed mouth, incised bands along the curved neck, and individually defined fingers and toes. Open spaces between the arms, torso, and legs give the compact figure an especially expressive silhouette.

The wood displays visible grain, a rich brown surface, and lighter areas of wear along raised features. Two existing paper labels remain underneath, including a handwritten label appearing to bear “F.B.” initials and a numbered notation. Their origin and the identity of the associated collector or dealer have not been verified.

Exact age, maker, and specific cultural attribution are unknown.

Condition: Surface wear, scratches, scattered marks, and areas of finish loss or rubbing are visible, particularly on the face, arms, knees, and feet. The underside labels show wear and fading. Please examine all photographs closely for condition and carving details.

Measures approximately 13.5 inches tall.

You will receive the exact sculpture pictured. Display stand is not included.
