See pictures for condition. I research all items on my page before selling and try to provide the best information / pictures possible. I DO NOT alter items in any way once they're in my possession in order to keep the piece's history as-is. As with all of my listings, please do your own research to confirm my findings. I just like to buy and sell cool things, learn the history of pieces, and get said item to the right person for it to be displayed for years to come. If you have any questions or need additional photos please let me know.
This appeaes to be an American Medical Association (AMA) "M.D." car emblem or badge, resembling pieces produced around 1925. The AMA began issuing and selling these metal and enameled car toppers or license plate badges to licensed physicians starting in 1919. The Journal of the American Medical Association sold these so motorists and traffic officers could easily identify a doctor's vehicle.
