Vintage Illinois Souvenir Tin Tray Metal Map Platter Purple Retro Americana:
$33.52
Nostalgic mid-century vintage lithographed metal souvenir map tray celebrating the State of Illinois. This retro piece of Americana features a striking black lacquer background mapping out the state’s cartography with highly detailed white graphics highlighting major highways, towns, and historic landmarks such as Lincoln's Tomb, New Salem State Park, and the Chicago skyline. The left side is accented with a beautiful, vibrant color transfer depicting a bouquet of the official Illinois state flower, the Purple Violet. Framed by a classic raised flanged white rim border, this decorative tin tray serves as a wonderful piece of mid-century wall decor for a bar area or a unique addition to an international travel souvenir collection.
This metal tray is in stable vintage condition, showcasing an authentic rustic character and aged patina from decades of display. The front face remains bright and highly readable, with the primary graphics and floral colors beautifully preserved aside from very minor surface handling scuffs and tiny flecks of paint wear along the raised edge border. The reverse gold-tone side exhibits heavy vintage wear, including extensive surface rust tracking, oxidation spotting, scratching, a minor edge storage dent along the right side rim, and an old piece of collector masking tape in the center. It does not come with original packaging but will be packed with sturdy cardboard reinforcement layers to ensure a completely safe journey.
